Larry Glemser

Larry Glemser is well known in Horsham as co-proprietor, with his brother Jimmy, of Glemser Brothers Auto Repair in Prospectville, and being a founder of the Horsham Lions Club.

Larry was born on October 8, 1945 and enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17. He served as a radioman on sub tenders and submarines from 1963 to 1967, in the Pacific and Vietnam. After this tour he returned home and in 1967 opened Glemser Brothers at the corner of Horsham Road and Limekiln Pike.

In 1980 he decided to re-enlist and served at Willow Grove Naval Air Station as a member of the 111th Fighter Wing as Radio Operator Maintainer and Driver (ROMAD). He completed numerous deployments to include; Operational Southern Watch, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, other deployments to Central America and other countries. Larry’s military career spanned for 30 years until mandatory retirement at the age of 60 in 2005 wih the rank of Master Sergeant.

Larry was a life time member of the Telford Diving Unit where he served in several leadership positions, including Captain. He also found time to serve as a Montgomery Township Committee man.

Larry passed awat October 16, 2021.
